The South Downs National Park
The South Downs have inspired writers, poets, artists and nature lovers for centuries.
William Blake wrote about the downs as one of "Britain's Breathing Spaces". The park offers a wide choice of stunning panoramic views stretching from Winchester to Eastbourne and ending at the imposing chalk cliffs at Seven Sisters. Take in the spectacular view from Seaford Head or visit the picturesque village of Alfrison, one of the best-preserved villages in the park with its timber-framed building and flint-walled church.
Spending time in the fresh air, forest bathing (known in Japan as "shinrin yoku") or walking through woods and over rolling green hills is good for your health and wellbeing. Pack a lunch, drink plenty of water, and why not trek through South Downs Park with your new international student friends? It's easily accessible from both our Chichester and Worthing campuses.
