An A-Level is a two-year course during which you will achieve three Level 3 qualifications as an international student. You can select up to three A-Levels to study as an international student.

Course Overview:

The French A-Level course at Worthing College is designed for students who wish to develop their proficiency in the French language while gaining a deep understanding of French-speaking cultures. Course Objectives:

Course Structure:

The A-Level French course is structured over two years, with the AS-Level qualification achieved in year 1.

Year 1 (AS Level):

Theme 1: Social issues and trends

  • Family structures and relationships
  • Education and Employment

Theme 2: Artistic culture in the French-speaking world

  • Music, media, and festivals

Assessment:

  • A mix of listening tasks, reading comprehension, and writing on a chosen theme.

Entry Requirements:

  • Proficiency in French at a level equivalent to at least a GCSE in French (or comparable certification).
  • Demonstrate an interest in French language and culture.
  • Strong academic record.
